Hey everyone from Tarkov! let’s discuss the latest TarkovTV Live event that happened in May 2024. We have a lot of thrilling changes coming our way in Escape from Tarkov. The update that everybody has been waiting for, not only introduces PVE fixes but also a wipe. So we need to discuss the upcoming features like a new trader as well as a boss character. Let’s get to it!

TarkovTV Live Highlights

TwitchCon EU Appearance

Arena and Tarkov will be showcased by BattleState Games (BSG) during the TwitchCon EU event to be held in Rotterdam, Netherlands. Fans will have an opportunity to see the most current improvements and forthcoming features.

Promo Codes

If you have watched the live stream, chances are high that you have these promo codes; Killer, Bitcoin, Ground Zero, Obdolboss, Thicck (two C’s). There are a lot of in-game items unlocked by these codes such as stims, and a graphics card among others.

Arena Linking Patch

Soon, the first of the Arena linking patches will be released by BSG. This means that your main character will be able to play in the Arena mode, making possible the process of leveling skills and transferring loot from PvP mode to Arena mode. However, note that PvE characters cannot send items to Arena, but Arena characters can send items to PvE.

New Trader: Ref

Introducing Ref, the fresh broker accessible on both EFT and The Arena. The currency for Ref will be GP coins that may be gained and used in either mode he is available in. New outfits, missions, and commodities associated with The Arena will be among those offered by him. Additionally, keys earned in Arena will unlock special areas in Escape from Tarkov maps.

Secure Container Quest

A new secure container, featuring a unique 10-square configuration, will be unlockable through an Arena quest chain. This offers an alternative to the Kappa container and adds more depth to the Arena gameplay.

PVE Mode Enhancements

Solo PVE Hosting

Starting in mid-June, players using the PVE mode solo will host their own servers locally. This change will free up BSG’s server capacity, resulting in faster matchmaking times for co-op players and instant queue times for solo players.

Improved AI and Difficulty Options

BSG is working on making the AI more challenging to enhance the solo PVE experience. Additionally, players will soon have the option to wipe their PVE accounts voluntarily, though forced wipes will not occur.

Unity 2022 Update

A significant update to Unity 2022 is on the horizon, promising better tools for performance optimization and graphical improvements. This update will help BSG refine and enhance the game’s overall performance.

Armor System Overhaul

An overhaul to the armor system is coming, ensuring better protection and a clearer understanding of hit zones. This means more effective coverage for vital areas like the collarbone and armpits, reducing unexpected deaths from seemingly minor hits.

Nostalgia Quest Line

A new quest line called Nostalgia will be added, allowing players to unlock rewards typically reserved for the EOD or Unheard Edition, such as additional pocket sizes. This update aims to make these perks more accessible through gameplay.

Upcoming Patch and Wipe

Patch 0.15

The next major patch, 0.15, slated for early August, will include a wipe. Here’s a sneak peek at what’s coming:

  • Hideout Zones: New areas like a ritual zone and mannequins for gear load-outs will be added.
  • New Weapons: Expect the Uzi, M60, Desert Eagle, SR-3M, and AS Val rework.
  • New Mechanics: Bipod and wall lean mechanics will enhance combat tactics.
  • Factory Rework: A complete makeover of the Factory map, with the original version available as a legacy event.
  • Events: Location-to-location travel and mortar strike events will be introduced.
  • Tripwires and Landmines: These new hazards can be placed strategically but also disabled by careful players.

New Boss: Partisan

Bosses are powerful enemies with unique gear, traits, and behavior in Escape from Tarkov. The new boss, Partisan, targets players with negative karma. The exact workings of the karma system will be kept secret, allowing players to discover its mechanics through gameplay.

Reduced PvE Progression Rate

To ensure a more prolonged and enjoyable experience, the progression rate in PvE mode will be slowed down. This change aims to prevent players from rushing through content too quickly.

Miscellaneous Updates

  • Audio Improvements: Significant audio changes, including an occlusion algorithm for better performance, are on the way.
  • In-Game Polls: Feedback through in-game polls will shape future updates.
  • Grenade Selection: Players will be able to select specific grenades using the mouse wheel.
  • Double Armbands: Armbands will now be visible on both shoulders.
  • Weapon Condition: Weapons found in containers will not always be in perfect condition.
  • Stash Locking: This feature is in the testing phase and may be included in future updates.

Future Plans

BSG has big plans post-August wipe, including attending TwitchCon in America and launching significant events in October. The team is also working towards the 1.0 patch, focusing on new graphics, the main storyline, and the terminal map.

Conclusion

Expect a lot in Escape from Tarkov as there are new gameplay mechanics, improved AI, and even a new wipe coming soon making the player experience even better at every turn. Keep watching out for new updates while preparing yourself for the thrilling experience ahead!
